We're moving to Summer Hill. Our new Summer Hill rooms open soon. Until then, in-person appointments with Shadi continue at Canterbury, and Juliette and Pua are taking new clients via telehealth now.

General Questions

Your First Appointment

Your first session is a gentle introduction where we explore your personal history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. There is no need to have everything perfectly prepared; we will simply have a conversation and leave plenty of time for any questions you may have. Our goal is to ensure you feel heard and supported as we begin this healing journey together.

GP Referrals & Medicare

To access Medicare rebates, you will need a GP referral and a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which usually covers a set number of sessions. You are welcome to attend as a private client without a referral, though please note the full fee will apply in this case. Our team is always here to guide you through the process and ensure you understand your options for support.

Session Duration

Standard psychology sessions are roughly 50 minutes long, which gives you plenty of time to settle in, explore your current concerns, and decide on meaningful next steps. While this is our usual format, we can occasionally arrange shorter or longer appointments if it is clinically appropriate for your specific needs. Our priority is ensuring you feel fully supported and never rushed during our time together.

Group Therapy Programs

We offer evidence-based group programs like DBT and other skills-based groups designed for shared healing in a safe environment. You can expect a small, supportive setting featuring guided activities and time to share your experiences whenever you feel comfortable. These programs provide a cost-effective way to learn valuable new tools while connecting with others on a similar journey. Our goal is to ensure you feel empowered and less alone as you build your personal path to wellbeing.

Telehealth Sessions

Telehealth sessions run over secure video, so you can attend from home or work without travelling. Many people find telehealth a flexible and convenient way to keep therapy consistent. Medicare rebates apply to telehealth sessions in the same way as in-person sessions. If you're unsure whether telehealth suits you, we're happy to talk it through.

Costs & Medicare Rebates

Sessions with our registered psychologists are eligible for a Medicare rebate when you have a valid GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan. Sessions with a provisional psychologist aren't eligible for Medicare rebates, so their fees are lower. Depending on your clinician, there may be an out-of-pocket gap. Our admin team can give you current fees and rebate details before your first booking.
