We're moving to Summer Hill. Our new Summer Hill rooms open soon. Until then, in-person appointments with Shadi continue at Canterbury, and Juliette and Pua are taking new clients via telehealth now.

Shadi Gray

Clinic Director & Principal Psychologist

Authentic, collaborative psychological care

Shadi Gray is the Principal Psychologist and Clinical Director of Aligned Minds Mental Health & Wellbeing Centre. She brings more than 20 years of clinical experience to every part of the practice, from the therapy room to how the team is built and supported.

For the past decade, Shadi worked as an Allied Health Manager in private mental health hospitals, leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating care across psychiatry, psychology, social work, general practice and group therapy.

That experience showed her how much it can help when different disciplines work together, and it shaped her vision for Aligned Minds: shared clinical language, clear communication and real respect for each other's work.

Shadi is known for her authenticity and for helping individuals, couples and families work through emotional barriers and build resilience. She offers a warm, non-judgemental space and doesn't shy away from discomfort when it is part of growth.

Why Aligned Minds matters

For many years Shadi ran a solo private practice and noticed a gap: many practitioners work in isolation, while clients often benefit from care that is connected across disciplines. Aligned Minds was created to help close that gap.

Her time in hospital settings showed her that recovery is rarely linear and rarely happens in a single consulting room. When psychologists, psychiatrists, GPs and other practitioners share a formulation and work towards the same goals, care feels more joined up for the person receiving it.

She founded Aligned Minds to bring that collaborative way of working into an outpatient practice: a contemporary, accessible space where clinical depth and warmth sit side by side.

Clinical Experience

Shadi has worked across private mental health hospitals, as an Allied Health Manager, and in private practice. That experience shapes her belief that good care often draws on a multidisciplinary team, and she tailors evidence-based therapy to each person's goals.

Treatment Philosophy

Aligned Minds reflects what Shadi believes psychology should be: authentic, collaborative, client-centred and grounded in real human connection. It is also shaped by what she has learned about how much it can help when clinicians from different disciplines work together.

Specialisations

Schema Therapy for long-standing patterns

For clients who feel stuck in repeating life patterns, Schema Therapy helps understand deep-rooted beliefs and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

DBT for emotion regulation

For people who experience intense emotions, DBT offers practical skills for managing distress, improving relationships, and reducing impulsive behaviours.

Gottman Method & RO-DBT for relationships

For couples and individuals wanting stronger, more flexible relationships, Shadi draws on the Gottman Method and RO-DBT to support connection, communication and trust.

CBT & ACT for everyday challenges

For clients managing anxiety, low mood, or stress, CBT and ACT help you notice unhelpful thoughts, act in line with your values, and move toward a more meaningful life.

Across the lifespan & families

Shadi works with children, adolescents and adults, as well as families wanting support with communication, conflict and complex emotional dynamics.

Trauma & workplace mental health

Shadi supports clients with trauma and complex presentations, as well as people navigating workplace stress, burnout and workers compensation processes.
